What is Security without Boundaries?

Rendin Alarm and their Partner/Provider Alarm.com offer Security without Boundaries. Our Partner Alarm.com has developed the first cellular sensor with virtually no range limitations for monitoring valuable property and assets. The Alarm.com Flex IO™, a battery-powered device that is weatherproofed for outdoor durability, uses the latest LTE-M technology to operate anywhere there is LTE coverage and without a panel, hub or even Wi-Fi. The one-of-a-kind sensor works as a standalone solution or as an expansion of a person’s existing Alarm.com-powered system.

The Flex IO™ sensor sets up in seconds and can be attached to almost anything to help people keep an eye on doors, gates, sheds, barns, detached garages, guest houses and other access points around their property. In addition, the wired magna-loop input option keeps users informed if freestanding items, like a motorcycle or lawn mower, are moved.

After testing it as both an outdoor gate sensor and with the wired loop it seems almost limitless. Many of our customers come to Rendin Alarm in Morton, PA looking for help. We are securing and monitoring things in areas outside the reach of their existing system. The Flex IO sensor is what we’ve needed to solve those challenges for our Customers. There’s nothing else like it on the market.

The Alarm.com Flex IO has an expected battery life of more than two years. Additionally it seamlessly integrates with the existing system of connected smart home devices. Subscribers can stay informed about pertinent activity detected by the Flex IO sensor. Rely on real-time notifications and customizable alerts configured through the mobile app.

The Flex IO sensor expands the boundaries of smart property monitoring while redefining the uses for an activity sensor. Also, It’s an extremely versatile solution that’s ready for the challenge of what home or business owners want to monitor without being restricted by location.

The Alarm.com Flex IO offers enhanced awareness for property owners, one of the key elements of security. As a standalone solution, Flex IO also can be used in other applications where consumer needs have gone unmet due to range restrictions. This is truly security without boundaries.

Water Detection Systems

Water Detection Systems, Smart Homes
Water Detection Systems from Rendin Alarm

Water Detection Systems mean Peace of Mind while You are Away.

Avoid property damage loss from water leaks and use water more efficiently with our Water Detection Systems. Rendin Alarm of Morton Pa is a partner with alarm.com and represents their innovative solutions in out area.

A part of the their Water Management solution, the device is said to identify low and high-volume water leaks and constantly monitor overall water use and current usage rates in homes and businesses.

Deep integration with the Alarm.com platform leverages intelligence and insights to help reduce the risk of losses from water emergencies, while also improving water conservation efforts.

The Smart Water Valve+Meter combines cutting-edge technology with high-quality plumbing hardware to help safeguard properties from costly leak repairs and steep water bills.

Using data from the device and a suite of water sensors and monitors, the leak detection system detects both large leaks and small drips early, and intelligently responds to each issue. For example:

  • While the property owner is away, the system detects a large leak from a burst pipe and automatically shuts off water to the home to prevent flooding.
  • While the property owner is home, the system detects a small leak from a laundry room and sends a notification but keeps the water on to avoid an untimely interruption.
  • The system uses temperature sensors on the Smart Water Valve+Meter along with HVAC and thermostat information to alert the property owner if there is an emerging risk of frozen pipes.
  • While the property owner is away, the system detects a bathroom toilet continually running and closes the water valve to prevent excessive water usage.

In addition to preventing water damage, the Water Management solution constantly monitors and reports water consumption to help home and business owners reduce waste and costs.

The Smart Water Valve+Meter fully integrates with the entire ecosystem so users can manage everything remotely through a single point, the mobile app. The Smart Water Valve+Meter is available through Rendin Alarm now.

Managing Deliveries Safely

managing Deliveries Safely, Rendin Alarm, Alarm Systems Delco
Are You Managing Deliveries Safely?

Thoughts on Managing Deliveries Safely

Are You managing deliveries safely when they come to your home or business? Have you disinfected a package delivery to protect yourself from germs lately? Are more deliveries such as food and groceries being left outside your door?

You’re not alone. In fact, many Americans have the same scenarios, according to new research. We’re relying more on home deliveries, and we’re taking new precautions as we adapt.

According to a survey of 2,000 Americans by OnePoll for Alarm.com, the average person now receives 10 home deliveries a month: a 60% increase from the pre-pandemic average of 6. It’s a trend that’s likely to stick.

With social distancing and shortages in stores as a root cause, we’re using home deliveries to get everything from clothing to essentials like milk and toilet paper, as well as to support local businesses. Along the way, we’re discovering extra benefits that we’ll want to keep—as well as a few new worries to navigate.

Here’s what was discovered:

We’re waking up to the benefits of home deliveries.

  • 53% of Americans have ordered a delivery to support a local business in the last year.
  • 48% say that home deliveries feel safer than shopping in stores.
  • 44% say that deliveries are more convenient.
  • 36% say the items they need are sometimes sold out in stores, or online-only.
  • 70% say that they appreciate delivery workers more than they used to.

Pre-pandemic, package theft was the main concern for online shoppers. Today’s deliveries arrive with new concerns: worries about our health, and the health of others.

  • 29 % of Americans worry about being exposed to germs at the front door
  • Two out of five now wash their hands after handling packages.
  • One third disinfect their deliveries before opening them.
  • One in six let their packages sit unopened to give germs time to die.

We’re still wary of opening the door to strangers.

Although we’re concerned about deliveries being left outside, we’re also hesitant to open our doors when they arrive.

  • 68% of Americans say they don’t open their door unless they’re certain they know who’s on the other side.
  • 35% wait until delivery drivers leave before they open the door.
  • 31% are worried about potential burglars posing as delivery drivers to case their home.
  • 41% say they don’t trust that visitors are always who they say they are.

Help is at hand—and it’s hands-free.

If you’re looking for a better, safer way to manage your deliveries while protecting your home and family, look no further. Rendin Alarm offers a new Touchless Video Doorbell lets you see more, know more and do more at your door, no matter where you are. Choosing an Alarm System

Choosing an alarm system, alarm systems, smart homes
Call Rendin when Choosing an Alarm System

When choosing an alarm system, the home security system technology is continually advancing. With newer features to offer, this means that you need to stay up to date and the latest innovations in the market. Today, home alarm systems are not as simple as when they first came out. With numerous options, many homeowners who have minimal experience find it difficult to choose the right one for their property.

To ensure that you are making the most efficient investment for your home, it is essential to do your research and know the pros and cons of the alarm systems you are considering to install. This article provides some tips in helping you how to choose a home alarm system that best suits your security needs.

Rendin Alarm offers high-quality home alarm systems with the latest technology features in providing residential security. Visit us here to explore more of our products and services!

What Do You Need For Your Home Security?

Before choosing a home security system, you should evaluate your property requirements to identify the comprehensive features you’ll be looking for in an alarm package. It is also important to look at the equipment, installation options, and other items to be included in the security system.

It is necessary to assess your security requirements, including your residential property’s physical size, installation specifications, and functionality considerations of both wired and wireless security systems. Installation options include hard-wired systems, which come in kits and are installed by an experienced professional; wireless units can be installed easily by a novice.

Once you understand your security needs, then it is time to choose from the types of alarm system features available for your home.

Security System Features

The type of monitoring equipment you plan to install plays a significant role in your choice of security system features. You can get peace of mind that your home and property are protected even while you are away for work or vacation.

Hard-wired systems are more reliable and offer higher protection levels when compared to wireless ones. Most wired systems provide outstanding reliability and consistency when compared to wireless networks. However, you may install wireless units where you can’t install a wired security system based on your security requirements. Wireless equipment offers better versatility and mobility, and some of them can be operated from a smartphone or handheld device. They also require minimal installation and maintenance, and they can work well during cold seasons.

What to consider when Choosing an Alarm System?

Home alarm systems are the perfect way to protect your home and property from burglary and other hazards like fire accidents. They provide safety and security and should be regarded as the primary method of securing your property and family. So when choosing a home security system, it is always important to consider the necessary functions it can deliver before anything else.

There are many essential aspects to consider in choosing home security systems. One of them is the design of the security system. It should have functional design features compatible with your home structure.

Another aspect of choosing a home security system is considering the cost of services, from the equipment to the installation fees. It is wise to do as much research on the products as possible before making any final decisions. You will want to choose an alarm company with an excellent reputation and offer the features you want and need.

The most important consideration when selecting a security system is to choose one that will work for your specific needs. And you must certainly consider how long you plan to have the alarm in place.

Security Perimeter

Some home alarm systems will only protect one front point or may only cover one room. If you are looking for a complete protection package, you may want to choose front integrated sensors, smart motion detectors, and video surveillance cameras. You can also choose from other features, such as carbon monoxide detectors, GSM/GPRS sensors, and other devices that work together to keep your home safe. The best feature for an overall security perimeter is to look for is a wireless system, preferably with minimal installation requirements.

Monitoring

Some of the other more advanced types of security systems for homes include video monitoring. Many homeowners believe that it is crucial to have video monitoring systems to watch what is happening in their homes while under surveillance. Other people do not see video as necessary as they think it to be and do not feel that video systems for home security systems are required. It all boils down to your monitoring requirements.

Smart Home Automation

Home alarm systems that use smart home automation features will have different installation options, and these are usually more expensive than basic systems.

Smart home automation features include things like temperature control, lighting, and security sensors. One of the most important things to consider when purchasing home security systems is whether they offer a trial period.

In some cases, a company may offer a trial period for a specific period, but the entire payment will be due at the trial. A smart home automation system package often comes with a few months of free trial protection.

How to Get The Best Type of Home Alarm System

To get the most out of your security system, you need to be aware of the different types of security systems for homes available on the market today to make an informed decision about the home security system that will be best for your needs.

One of the most common types of home security systems for homes is the do-it-yourself alarm system. These DIY security systems for homes can be quite simple, but their features might be limited due to some technical aspects involved in the installation process.

To fully protect your home, you will probably want to install an advanced alarm system delivered by professional security companies. Besides knowing how to choose a home alarm system, it would be best if you relied on a trusted service provider to provide effective long-term security solutions.

Cold Weather and Alarm Systems

How does Cold Weather and Alarm Systems affect performance?
Cold Weather and Alarm Systems Don’t Always Get Along!

Cold weather and alarm systems can be tricky together. Cold weather causes metal to contract. Especially as we reach lows in the 10°’s and 20°’s. Make sure all exterior and monitored doors are closed properly before turning on your alarms in the evening. The freezing temperatures can cause the moving parts of door latches to stick in place and require a little extra ‘motivation’ to allow a door to close.

Battery life can be drastically shortened because of cold weather in any wireless devices. If an odd window sensor goes off with no sign of intrusion, this could be a direct result. Don’t panic in case of accidental alarm. That is an easy fix.

Additionally, there’s the potential for icicles and snow blocking camera views. Make sure your outdoor security cameras are mounted in a way that hinders obstruction.

Home burglary alarms that utilize a magnet on the door and a magnetic sensor on the frame can be tripped solely due to cold weather. During cold, but not freezing temperatures, wooden doors can shrink a tiny amount. Condensation is formed when the warm interior temperatures meet with the  exterior temps. So be mindful of cold weather and alarm systems and make sure doors are tightly closed and windows are securely locked.

Precautions You Can Take

You can call Rendin Alarm to service your system and make sure your equipment is optimized to perform well in cold weather. Also, anything that is wireless should be checked for sufficient battery power. Make sure your Alarm Warning Signs are not buried in snow. Also, make sure your outside lighting is clear from snow.

Our Security Tips for the New Year can help you have a Happy 2021!

5 Security Tips for the New Year

Rendin Alarm wants to offer you free security tips for the New Year! New Years is a time of making improvements and home security should be top of the list. As we all try to set new habits in place, remember old habits die hard for burglars! January can be a tough month so we’ve got 5 home security tips to make it easier to have a happy New Year…

1 – Lock ALL Your Doors

Do you lock and remove the key from your dead bolt very time? If you do then well done! Making sure everyone in the family does this goes a long way to keeping opportunistic burglars out of your home.

But what about the other doors? It’s easy to forget the back or side entrance if you’re just nipping out for a loaf or school pick up. Can you enter your home from the garage? So can a burglar! Make sure all doors lock securely and get into the habit of checking them before leaving. It only takes 8 minutes for a burglar to ransack your home. Don’t let a quick trip cost you the heartache and headache of a burglary

2 – Remember Your Windows

Even the smallest window can be used by a burglar. It’s not just about someone climbing in. Bad guys feed tools through tiny openings to lift latches or keys. Always close them fully and lock them.

Upstairs windows at the back are particularly at risk. If they’re left unlocked a burglar can be inside in seconds. Even if he can’t get right in, you don’t want someone taking your jewelry collection! If you have a garage with a low roof nearby, your upstairs is vulnerable. Make your resolution to lock everything, every time!

3 – Make Sure Valuables Aren’t Visible Through Windows

After the Christmas comes the challenge of finding places to put all the new stuff. Ensure high value items go somewhere they can’t be spotted from outside. Encourage the family to put away tablets and games consoles. Pull curtains or close blinds as soon as it gets dark to avoid putting your home on show to a burglar.

New bicycles or outdoor toys should also be stored securely. A locked shed is much safer than leaving items leaning against a wall. Outdoor security lighting can also help deter thieves and keep your garden and outdoor items safer.

4 – No Break-In While You are on Break!

Are you heading off to the slopes? Maybe escaping the cold for some winter sunshine? Make sure you don’t return to bad news! These days we have to think of more than cancelling newspapers and the milkman. Are there any packages due that could be left in plain sight? Is the pizza place going to leave a menu hanging out of your mailbox?

If you have a good neighbor, let them know you’ll be away. Ask them to keep an eye out for deliveries and other tell tale signs of an empty house. If the drive will be empty, see if you can let someone use it so it’s not obvious you’re away. Set timers on lights and radios to mimic normal family activity. Lastly, don’t post on social media until you’re back!

5 – Call Rendin Alarm

The best resolution you can make is to invest in a professionally installed security system. Your home and family are watched over day and night with top quality equipment. Rest assured you won’t be part of next years burglary statistics!

Burglars avoid homes with proper security alarms like the plague – moving on to easier pickings.

At Rendin Alarm, we want everyone to be protected. We offer affordable home alarm systems, which meet your needs.
